TomTom releases new Navigation app for iPhone and iPad

TomTom releases new Navigation app for iPhone and iPad

New update includes Facebook™ and Twitter™ functionality

Auckland, 12 April 2012 – TomTom has today released the latest version of its app for iPhone and iPad, which fully integrates TomTom navigation with social media applications.

The TomTom navigation app for iPhone and iPad fully supports social networks as a source for turn-by-turn navigation. The new version automatically plans routes based on information from Facebook events and places.

Valerie Cross, Public Relations Manager for Asia Pacific, says “this new app will make navigation a more socially integrated experience. For example, if your friends have checked into a restaurant on Facebook, you can now drive straight there because the app can navigate to the venue. Or, if you want to find a great new place to eat, you can search thousands of Facebook places and find them in just a tap.”

Additionally, drivers can use the app to share their destination and arrival time on Twitter, Facebook, by email and by SMS text.

The update includes the latest map.

Availability
The TomTom Navigation app for iPhone and iPad is now available for purchase from the Apple App Store for NZ $94.99. Existing customers can download the new update for free.
