480,000 Trees Help Make New Zealand Greener
Honda’s ambition to support New Zealand's biodiversity takes another step forward this week, with the achievement of a significant tree planting milestone.
Through its highly regarded TreeFund initiative, Honda is now officially responsible for the accumulated funding of 480,000 native trees.
The most recent planting took place at Kahikatea Reserve in Blenheim, where over 1,200 native tree seedlings were planted by the local community. With a full programme of plantings for the coming season, the significant milestone of half a million trees funded is anticipated very soon.
Passionate about restoring bio-diversity, Honda developed TreeFund as an opportunity for customers to become involved in the greening of their own local community and to encourage local bio-diversity. With 13 native trees planted for every new car sold, Honda has been funding tree plantings nationally since 2004.
