Food Recall of Deli Kitchen Sandwiches due to possible presence of plastic
Goodman Fielder NZ is conducting a voluntary consumer
food recall of two of its sandwich products; the Deli
Kitchen Sandwiches Classic Ham & Mustard flavour and Deli
Kitchen Sandwiches Classic Ham & Mayo flavour, due to the
possible presence of thin clear soft food-grade plastic in
the ham.
This recall applies only to Deli Kitchen Sandwiches Classic Ham & Mustard and Deli Kitchen Sandwiches Classic Ham & Mayo flavours with the use by dates of 17/3/2012, 18/3/2012 and 19/3/2012.
They are fresh products with a limited shelf life. Consumers should not eat these products under any circumstances. These products are recalled as a precaution due to a possible choking hazard.
These products, Deli Kitchen Sandwiches Classic Ham & Mustard and Deli Kitchen Sandwiches Classic Ham & Mayo flavours, are in the process of being recalled from stores and some may remain in people’s homes. We are advising purchasers to review date codes and contact the Goodman Fielder Customer Advisory Centre on 0800 368 052, for details of how to return the product and obtain a full refund.
No other Goodman Fielder products are affected by this recall.
Goodman Fielder has temporarily stopped accepting supplies from the third party supplier of the affected ingredient. Goodman Fielder is undertaking a full review of all its suppliers to ensure ingredient quality. Goodman Fielder will not purchase ingredients from any supplier unless it is completely assured and satisfied of the ingredients' quality.
Goodman Fielder is greatly concerned at any risk to its customers. This recall is being undertaken to ensure the safety of our customers as an ongoing commitment to maintain the highest possible standards of safety and product quality at all times.
Goodman Fielder has had no complaints from consumers regarding the products mentioned. The issue was detected in a routine check as part of the company’s routine quality control processes.
