BP drops prices after giving away $1m in fuel discounts in two months
BP Oil NZ has this morning dropped diesel prices by 5 cents per litre.
Prices at most BP-owned stations are:
Regular Diesel: 152.9cpl
BP Ultimate Diesel: 153.9 cpl
BP NZ Fuels General Manager Nicki Nicol said the price of refined diesel on international markets has decreased and BP has quickly passed this on to consumers.
BP has also announced that it has provided over $1 million in fuel discounts to motorists in the past two months through the AA Smartfuel programme.
Ms Nicol said: “BP is pleased to today drop the price of diesel and to be able to continue to provide our customers with significant fuel discounts that can make a real difference to family budgets. We’ve given away over $1 million of fuel discounts to our customers in just two months, and that’s just going to continue to grow."
BP has also given away over $50,000 through its ‘swipe and win’ promo. Every customer who swipes their AA Smartfuel card in a BP store goes in the draw to win $1000 every day from 5 December 2011 to 29 January, 2012.
Ms Nicol said when the AA Rewards programme ended after 13 years of partnership, BP joined forces with AA Smartfuel as a way to provide BP customers with instant, meaningful fuel discounts.
“We are pleased to have provided a place for motorists to redeem their fuel discounts in our convenient, modern sites, as well as offering further ways to accumulate fuel discounts through our shop offers. We have run three 8cpl discount periods in the past six weeks, and will continue to provide refreshed offers every month," Ms Nicol said.
BP customers can currently save up to an extra 22 cents a litre with the following BP in-store discounts (till 29 January, 2012):
• 10 cpl discount with the purchase of a pair of sunglasses
• 2 cpl discount with a four pack of kiwi blue water
• 2 cpl discount with an eight pack of Coke Cans
Please note: There are over 100 independently-owned BP service stations in New Zealand. They buy their fuel off BP at a wholesale price and by law must set their own pump prices.
