A Hong Kong Success Story
A Hong Kong Success Story
William Buck New Zealand
director Arran Boote’s work to develop trade through Hong
Kong has won a 'Success Story Award' from the Federation of
Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide and the Hong Kong
Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
The awards are a joint initiative by the Federation, which represents 33 associations in 24 countries, and HKTDC, a government body. They are open to nations and companies from throughout the world, and assess initiatives, client service and market understanding.
Mr Boote has spent the past seven years developing his consultancy services on how to structure and develop trade with Asia and China, using Hong Kong as a gateway. New Zealand’s Free Trade Agreements, with Hong Kong and then China, have facilitated greater opportunity for New Zealand businesses in the region.
The judges acknowledged his achievements in the following business activities in/through Hong Kong:
• Assisted New Zealand and Australian businesses, particularly in the consulting areas, to establish their Hong Kong base for their pan-Asian expansion.
• Supported New Zealand exporters to link Singapore into their existing Hong Kong businesses.
• Helped New Zealand exporters to utilise the HK/PRC CEPA agreement to overcome the need to obtain separate licence registration in Hong Kong.
• Set up trading houses in Hong Kong for various import / export entities.
