Russell McVeagh is delighted to announce four new partners in the firm’s Auckland and Wellington offices, effective 1 December. The firm’s new partners are members of Russell McVeagh's corporate advisory group, resource management and finance practices.

Deemple Budhia - Partner, Finance, Auckland
Deemple's practice covers all areas of finance law including securitisation and structured finance, debt capital markets, derivatives, financial services regulation and general corporate finance.
Prior to joining Russell McVeagh, Deemple spent several years in London working in Allen & Overy's securitisation team and more recently in Citibank's European commercial property and securitisation team.
Bronwyn Carruthers - Partner, Resource management, Auckland
Bronwyn is a resource management specialist with particular expertise in resource management litigation, with extensive experience before the Environment Court. She also has litigation experience in the higher appellate Courts, including the Supreme Court of New Zealand. Bronwyn also specialises in public and local government law.
Bronwyn joined Russell McVeagh in 2011, having worked at another major New Zealand law firm since 2000, acting for local authorities in the Auckland region.
Nick Hegan - Partner, Corporate Advisory Group, Wellington
Nick's practice includes advising on regulatory issues and securities law, as well as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and all aspects of general corporate and commercial law. He advises in relation to a number of areas, including dairy, energy, banking and financial services, and telecommunications. Prior to joining Russell McVeagh in 2007, Nick worked for 13 years in financial markets in New Zealand, London and Chicago, most recently as Managing Director of derivatives trading for a major bank in Chicago.
Mei Fern Johnson - Partner, Corporate Advisory Group, Wellington
Mei Fern practices in the areas of corporate and commercial law, including in the specialty areas of acquisitions and divestments (including restructuring and joint ventures), infrastructure, energy and information technology.
Mei Fern acts for state-owned enterprises in New Zealand, and the government/public sector, as well as large private enterprises and multi-national companies. She joined Russell McVeagh in 2004, having worked at another major New Zealand law firm since 2000.
