Christchurch Airport’s Annual Report
Judged Best in Country
This year’s Christchurch International Airport (CIAL) Annual Report has been named the 2011 Best Annual Report by a Corporate Organisation.
The New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) has announced the award and also awarded the same annual report Best Sustainability Reporting Award in its annual NZIAC Leadership Awards.
CIAL Chief Executive Jim Boult says the two awards are a great honour and highly valued by the airport team.
“We titled the 2011 Annual Report Above and Beyond – and that’s how far the finance and communications teams went in compiling it, on top of managing the various emergencies we have handled this year,” says Mr Boult.
“An annual report is not only a matter of financial record, it’s an essential part of a communications strategy. It declares an organisation’s goals and aspirations, as well as performance. It should be accessible to anyone who picks it up and we worked hard this year on making our document both informative and appealing. These awards suggest we achieved that.”
The NZICA says the finalist annual
reports are judged on how clearly they communicate the
objectives, highlights, performance, management and
personnel of the organisation. Judges consider the size,
complexity and sophistication of each entry as well as the
resources the organisation has available.
