International recruit heads Project Management at CBRE

Auckland, 17 November 2011- CBRE has appointed internationally experienced real estate project manager Jonathan Williams as the new Director Project Management for CBRE’s Global Corporate Services team, based in Auckland.

Mr Williams will be delivering current commissions in New Zealand whilst growing the business throughout the country. His appointment also provides CBRE’s international clients expert project management for their New Zealand based initiatives.

Prior to joining CBRE, Mr Williams spent three years in India at the height of their construction boom as Project Director for Altus Page Kirkland, a Canadian listed real estate provider. While there he headed all aspects of the project design and management for a US $250 million commercial office project of over 70,000m2 in Mumbai.

CBRE’s National Director of Global Corporate Services, Tim Rookes, said Mr Williams’ appointment is ideal for both local and international clients.

“He’s had both hands-on and strategic experience in all aspects of project management. From overseeing scuba divers recovering a boring auger 62 metres underground in central Auckland, to managing unskilled labour-intensive exercises such as moving a 20 tonne generator by hand in India, he is adept at identifying important issues that can rise throughout a project and is passionate at achieving the best outcome for the client.”

With over 27 years in delivering in excess of $2 billion of capital projects during his career, Mr Williams’ expertise spans project oversight, monitoring, fitout coordination and management, management of design submissions, coordination of construction contracts, project planning and programming, building design/documentation management, programme expedition and supervision, buildability advice, supervision of construction quality and control/quality assurance.

It’s a return to New Zealand for Mr Williams who came back initially for the Rugby World Cup.

Mr Williams says; “Once back I heard of this opportunity, it was something I was very excited about. I’m delighted to be with CBRE and looking to delivering projects that offer a positive function for people and business.”
