Unforgettable meetings and experiences now offered at Hilton Queenstown
Queenstown, New Zealand – 17 November, 2011
Queenstown’s newest village location on the sunny side of Lake Wakatipu is a conference organisers dream. Kawarau Village is close to Queenstown airport and offers two hotels, six meeting rooms, a modern Business Centre, four restaurants, the divine eforea spa, a range of exclusive “clip on” experiences and friendly, professional experts to put it all together.
Hilton Queenstown officially opened in the village in late June 2011 and is offering a full meeting and events service which includes several exclusive ‘clip on’ packages. These include the Arrival Experience that delivers delegates from Queenstown Airport to the Kawarau Village Jetty by jet boat, a series of Recharge & Relax experiences including tea-break visits from the eforea Angels for a short pampering treatment, Sip & Savour experiences that take full advantage of Kawarau Village’s restaurants and Queenstown’s world renowned food and wine, and Action & Adventure experiences that include the spectacular Golf by Water – jet boat transfers between Hilton Queenstown and Queenstown Golf Course.
General Manager Marlene Poynder says the experiences were designed around the special location of the Village and the range of facilities and activities available to guests and visitors.
“Our absolute and unique lakefront location gives us genuine points of difference. We have a beautiful lakeside trail on our doorstep and plenty of bikes for people to ride it. There are two golf courses on our peninsula that are most easily accessible by boat.
“Conference organisers may like to consider activities such as a picnic on the beach or a progressive dinner throughout the village, or our Big Picture where delegates can produce their own movie to show in the Kawarau Village cinema.”
Hilton Queenstown has 178 rooms and a maximum event capacity of 220. Several conference rooms have outdoor areas and spectacular lake and mountain views A further 98 rooms are available at the neighbouring Kawarau Hotel, managed by Hilton. The Village is connected to downtown Queenstown via the Kawarau Village shuttle service and water taxi service. Restaurants include Wakatipu Grill, Cru Wine Bar & Lounge, Me & Mee Noodle Bar, Kawarau Hotel Lobby Bar, Stacks Pub and The Lake Counter Café, Grocery and Deli.
