Cooney Lees Morgan awarded Mid-Size Law Firm of the Year
Tauranga law firm Cooney Lees Morgan has won the ASB Mid-Size Law Firm of the Year Award at the 2011 New Zealand Law Awards for the second consecutive year.
Partner Owen Cooney says the double accolade is something the firm is very proud of: "It is very gratifying for us to win this national award consecutively for two years. It shows that our firm is consistent and reputable in the quality of our work; something that is only achievable when everyone works together so well," says Mr. Cooney.
One client nomination for Cooney Lees Morgan in the award category said they were a law firm that "combines large company expertise with small company service".
Cooney Lees Morgan has been operating in the Bay of Plenty for over 90 years, and has a distinguished track record of supporting local communities.
"Our community is very important to us, and we wouldn't be accepting this award without their support for our business over the years. We are grateful to all those who have contributed to the success of Cooney Lees Morgan," he says.
There were six finalists in the independently judged Mid-Size Law Firm of the Year Award, a category in which hundreds of New Zealand law firms are eligible to be nominated in by their clients.
Cooney Lees Morgan were named the runner up for the Resource Management and Environment Law Award and the Public Law Award, as well as being a finalist in the Community Service in Law Award.
The 2011 New Zealand Law Awards were held in Auckland on November 10 at the Viaduct Events Centre.
