Board Changes for NZ LAW Ltd

BOARD CHANGES FOR NZ LAW LIMITED
NZ LAW Limited has announced the appointment of a new chairman – Simon Price, and the election of a new director – David Graham. These appointments took effect from 4 November 2011.
Simon Price has taken over from Hastings lawyer, Jim Ferguson, who has retired from NZ LAW’s board. Mr Price said, “The board and I would like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution Jim Ferguson has made to the board as a director for four years and, then in the past two years, as chairman. His strong leadership has seen the group consolidate its position with 61 member firms in 70 different locations. Jim has driven many new initiatives for the benefit of member firms, their employees and most importantly their clients.”
A partner in Christchurch law firm Mackintosh Bradley & Price, Simon specialises in business acquisitions, structuring and trusts. He is a former chairman of Laura Fergusson Trust Canterbury and remains as a trustee, and he is a member of the Institute of Directors. Simon has been a director of NZ LAW since 2007.
New director, David Graham, is a director in Auckland law firm DG Law Limited, based in Panmure. David’s expertise focuses on providing practical and effective commercial advice for his business clients, including asset structuring. He also has broad experience in the establishment, administration and operation of trusts. A former rower-turned-coach, David coached Auckland Grammar rowing crews for NISS and Maadi until 2005. He also has a keen interest in spear fishing and underwater hockey, being president of New Zealand Underwater from 1994-2001.

NZ LAW is an association of independent legal practices with member firms located throughout New Zealand. There are currently 61 member firms practising in over 70 locations throughout the country. NZ LAW member firms have agreed to cooperate with one another to develop a national working relationship. Membership enables firms to access one another’s skills, information and ideas whilst maintaining client confidentiality.
