Going Digital Community Programme Visits Nelson Library
Nelsonians do not need to get a new television to go digital.
Going Digital Community Adviser Guy Burns says "this is because almost any TV can receive a digital signal with the
right equipment but you will need Freeview or Sky to continue watching TV after 28 April 2013.
Mr Burns will be discussing this and the other changes to television at Nelson Library on Wednesday 16 November from
10:30am to 2:30pm.
"People who have already gone digital in Nelson are enjoying better picture and sound quality, additional channels and
benefits such as onscreen TV guides. If you already have Freeview or Sky, you have already gone digital and don't need
to do anything else.
"Local residents have a choice between using a satellite dish or UHF aerial. UHF comes from the Mount Campbell
transmitter, sited behind Motueka, which is also repeated from Mount Kaka in Nelson city. This signal provides coverage
to most of the flatter areas and for those in remoter areas, a satellite dish will be required."
Guy is available to meet and talk with residents and community groups. He can be contacted on 021 262 4645 or guy.burns@goingdigital.co.nz .
