Christchurch Rebuild Roundtable.


Christchurch will host a special “Rebuild Roundtable” at the city’s Museum tomorrow between major British companies and the city’s business leaders.

Among the British companies that will be attending the conference will be Lloyds and the HSBC banking group.

A Memorandum of Understanding will also be signed between New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and UK Trade and Investment. The MOU is aimed at sharing key investment and trade opportunities .The MOU plans to get both countries to develop business opportunities together in other markets such as Asia.

The British High Commissioner to New Zealand, Mrs Vicki Treadell says “the MOU has to be seen in the context of the “World Banks Doing Business Report “where New Zealand and the United Kingdom are in third and fourth place respectively . There are great opportunities for our countries to cooperate more closely in this rapidly globalising world.”
