XT mobile customers to benefit from new “PayforItNZ” service

21 October 2011

XT mobile customers to benefit from new “PayforItNZ” service

In a first for New Zealand, customers on Telecom’s XT network will now be able to safely and securely purchase mobile content and have it charged direct to their Telecom mobile account. As XT smart phones increasingly play a vital role in simplifying people’s lifestyles, the new PayforItNZ service makes mobile shopping safer and easier for customers to use.

Developed by the Telecommunications Carriers’ Forum, the PayforItNZ service means that customers no longer need to provide their credit card details when buying mobile content from their handsets. Instead the entire process can be done using their mobile phones with purchases charged back to their mobile account.

XT Customers can easily identify which sites offer this payment service by looking for the PayforItNZ and Telecom logos that appear on all relevant payment pages. Payment screens provide a clear and unambiguous notification of pricing, the terms related to that pricing and any other conditions related to the purchase. The new service also means that customers can safely choose to opt out of their purchase at any point during the transaction.

Telecom is committed to providing the best possible mobile experience for its XT customers and committed to providing a safe and trusted payment environment for mobile content transactions over the mobile internet.
