Field Technicians Can Access and Take Action From Remote Locations

SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced general availability of the SAP® EAM Work Order mobile app, which gives field technicians remote access to information, allowing them to make better-informed decisions and execute work assignments in real time.

With SAP EAM Work Order, online and offline functionalities let technicians manage work orders on their devices even without network connectivity. Companies can mobilise maintenance operations across the entire enterprise and extend the value of existing enterprise applications. Additionally, the SAP EAM Work Order mobile app:

• Provides technicians, wherever they are working, with immediate access to work orders and equipment information

• Automates manual, paper-based work order processes and give supervisors greater visibility into maintenance activities

• Integrates maintenance operations with other enterprise processes

• Proactively manages data, devices, applications and communications for maintenance workers.

A cross-industry application with focus on asset-intensive industries such as manufacturing and process industries, telco, utilities and transportation, SAP EAM Work Order is initially available on Windows 32 laptops and tablets. The app will extend the broad portfolio of enterprise asset management solutions from SAP.

The mobile app is built on the Sybase® Unwired Platform, which enables intuitive and quick development of applications for secure access to diverse business data on different mobile devices.
