The company was named: Australasia’s leading travel agent Australasia’s leading business travel agent (FCm Travel Solutions) Asia’s leading travel management company (FCm); and Europe’s leading travel management company (FCm)
Described by The Wall Street Journal as the “Oscars of the travel industry”, the World Travel Awards aim to separate the good from the outstanding and identify companies that consistently excel beyond expectation.
Executive general manager New Zealand, Mike Friend, said he's delighted New Zealand played a part in winning these prestigious awards.
"We’re thrilled New Zealand votes played a part in the Australasia win for both Flight Centre and FCm - we're extremely proud of the achievements," Mr Friend said.
This year, 213,000 industry professionals from the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors were eligible to take part in the voting process.
FLT managing director Graham Turner said the awards capped a solid year for the company.
“The 2010/11 financial year was a memorable period for the company, with FLT achieving record results, expanding its global network and trading profitably in all 10 countries for the first time,” he said.
“FCm’s achievement in winning awards in three regions is particularly noteworthy and highlights the strength of the network, its people and its customer service and offerings.”
