FCm Named Australasia’s Leading Business Travel Agent

FCm Travel Solutions has been named Australasia’s Leading Business Travel Agent in the 2011 World Travel Awards.

The new title adds momentum to FCm’s winning streak in the 2011 World Travel Awards, which this year has also named FCm Asia’s Leading Travel Management Company (TMC) and Europe’s Leading Travel Management Company.

Described by The Wall Street Journal as the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry, the World Travel Awards aim to separate the good from the outstanding, and identify companies that consistently excel beyond expectation. This year around 213,000 industry professionals from the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors were eligible to take part in the voting process.

FCm Travel Solutions global brand leader Gregory Lording said the company was delighted to accept the award for Australasia and thrilled to add three new regional World Travel Awards to its line-up of global accolades.

“To win the top award in three regions is a tremendous achievement for FCm. The triple win is testament to the strength of our people, our customer service and our global network. The rewards also reflect FCm’s solid reputation in each of these markets, which is upheld every day by a global network of travel industry professionals,” he said.

“Our knowledge of local markets, global capabilities and experience in the business travel market ensures our clients can drive cost and time efficiencies across all levels of their travel programs.”

Simon McKearney, New Zealand general manager corporate, is delighted New Zealand played a part in this win.

“Being part of a global company gives us the advantage to bring the best service and value to New Zealand. We’re thrilled New Zealand votes played a part in the Australasia win,” Mr McKearney said.

Rob Flint, executive general manager of global corporate operations for FCm parent company Flight Centre Limited, said FCm’s willingness to go beyond mere travel to achieve the best possible results for customers was a key factor in the company’s ongoing success in the corporate travel market.

“Our proactive approach to travel management and preparedness to go above and beyond for clients is well-recognised within the industry,” Rob said. “And we thank all of our travel teams across the network for their hard work and dedication.”
