Kahungunu Asset Holding Company Limited Director Appointments

Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated is pleased to announce the 3 successful Director appointments on the Kahungunu Asset Holding Company, Te Horipo Karaitiana, Rawinia Kamau and Peter Brierley. Te Horipo and Rawinia will replace the outgoing directors Harry Mikaere and Chris O’Reilly while Peter’s successful re-appointment will help keep the momentum going on current investments and iwi developments. The new directors were nominated and appointed through an open process and will each bring a range of disciplines to augment the expertise of our current directors, Eboni Waitere, Taine Randall and Rangi Manuel.

The six directors will provide leadership in a whole range of commercial developments from whenua to fishing, employment to investment and property acquisition to aquaculture.

The Kahungunu Asset Holding Company Ltd. is the entity that was established in 2005 under the Māori Fisheries Act 2004, to receive and manage the Treaty Fisheries Settlement Assets. Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated, the joint mandated iwi organisation (NKII) for Kahungunu and Rongomaiwahine, is the sole shareholder of the company. Directors are appointed by the Board of NKII and serve a three year term.

Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated acknowledges the long term service of Harry Mikaere and Chris O’Reilly. Their business acumen, loyal service and dedication have been appreciated at all levels.
