TV wunderkind Jason Paris moves to Telecom
Sept. 12 (BusinessDesk) – Telecom Corp. has picked up the high profile former chief executive at TV3, Jason Paris, as its new chief marketing officer.
Named Marketer of the Year in 2008 when he was head of digital media strategy at Television New Zealand, Paris jumped ship to Mediaworks, which broadcasts the TV3 network, for a short-lived stint as chief executive of television, a role he resigned in June after barely a year in the job.
Paris will join the senior leadership team of Telecom’s retail chief executive Alan Gourdie, with responsibility for retail revenue and profitability for mobile, broadband, home phone, converged and SME business product lines, as well as all retail marketing and delivering on the Telecom brands.
"We now have a well-established strategy across broadband, mobile and converged,” said Gourdie in a statement. “Jason has clear commercial objectives to deliver by bringing to bear his extensive experience in strategy, technology, sales and marketing, working for leading brands such as Nokia, McDonald’s, TVNZ, TV3 and FOUR.”
Paris starts at Telecom on Sept. 19.
