EasySwitch customers in to win a black Kiwibank smart-car

EasySwitch customers in to win a black Kiwibank smart-car as new level added to Green Ops 'game' site

WELLINGTON, 12 September 2011 – Customers who switch to Kiwibank through its latest online EasySwitch campaign between 9 September and 23 October will be in the running to win a stylized black Kiwibank smart-car.

Kiwibank has expanded its initiative to coax customers to switch banks by announcing it is offering the black version of its familiar Kiwibank smartcar mascot –affectionately known as ‘Raymond’ – as it heads off on a nationwide road trip seeking nominations for the 2012 Kiwibank NewZealander of the Year Awards.

“The prize car will be minus Raymond’s giant speakers that Kiwis know and love, but a fantastic prize nonetheless,” says Nicky Ashton, Head of Brand & Marketing Communications for Kiwibank.

She says there are now several new hot-spots on the Green Ops site that visitors can explore to discover more entertaining videos and games featuring Raymond amidst the information on switching to Kiwibank.

Unlike traditional approaches to bank advertising, Kiwibank’s Easyswitch campaign is encouraging consumers to switch to Kiwibank via a unique interactive YouTube channel called ‘Green Ops’, with the look and feel of a first-person POV-style online game.

Ms Ashton says that the ‘gamified’ site has already been wildly popular with visitors, and has prompted many to switch their banks to Kiwibank.

“The feedback we’ve had from people who have interacted with the site has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s been a great way to connect with people and show them just how simple and beneficial it is to switch banks, and all it takes is a signature.”

The winner of the black Raymond smart car will be announced on 24 October.
