Excellence Award for Christchurch Property Manager

September 8, 2011

Excellence Award for Christchurch Property Manager

Sharon Layton, sole principal of Christchurch residential property management company Quinovic-Merivale, has won the inaugural Quinovic Excellence Award.

She receives sponsorship valued at $20,000 to attend the ICEHOUSE Owner Manager Programme with which Quinovic has a long association.

Ms Layton was unanimously voted by the Management Team of the Quinovic franchise group at its recent annual conference and she will be involved in next year’s winner’s selection process.

Group Managing Director Ross Davey says her win recognises outstanding management of clients, tenants and staff through the two major Christchurch earthquakes.

“Despite the distraction of the events Quinovic-Merivale grew at a well above average rate, and was constantly in the top performing offices.”

Ms Layton is a member of Quinovic’s National Marketing Council, and part of its National Software Focus Group Committee, both requiring her to frequently travel to Wellington as well as running her own franchise.

She has a Masters of Business Studies from Massey University, majoring in tourism management. Prior to becoming a Quinovic franchisee, she spent several years in hotel management, and established her own personal security company in London. Clients included Arabic royal families and many of London's leading hotels.

“Somehow she also manages to find time to raise her young family – a truly remarkable performer!” Ross Davey says.

Quinovic is the country’s largest independently owned residential property manager – dedicated solely to property management and not selling real estate.

The company was founded by Ross Davey in Wellington in 1988, opened its first franchised office in 1991, and has a 27 franchise network throughout New Zealand which it is looking to double in size over the next five years.
