Joe Edwards appointed president of New Zealand Contractors’ Federation
Joe Edwards, Construction Manager for McConnell Dowell Constructors, has been appointed president of the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation.
Mr Edwards succeeds David Jewell, Operations Manager for Fletcher Construction. David Connell, Managing Director of Connell Contractors, has been appointed vice president.
Mr Edwards has 35 years’ experience in the civil construction industry. He has been a member of the federation’s national executive for nine years and vice president for the past three years.
Mr Edwards said he was keen for the federation to continue building links with other industry and client organisations.
“I have always believed that a united and creditable voice from the construction industry will be far more effective than a number of diverse messages,” he said.
“I’m also looking forward to working with federation chief executive Jeremy Sole and his team, including further expanding benefits to members through active branches and more technical groups.”
