Randstad rolls out new jobseeker app and mobile website

New app keeps jobseekers mobile

Randstad rolls out new jobseeker app and mobile website

Wednesday, September 7 - A new iPhone and Android app has been launched by specialist recruitment & HR services company, Randstad, designed to make job hunting easier with local and global jobs accessible anywhere, at any time.

To complement the app's launch, Randstad has developed a new global mobile phone friendly website, providing fast access to the recruiter's localised job-search engine and a news tab to keep jobseekers up-to-date with relevant employment stories.

Randstad CEO, Fred van der Tang, says the launch of the new app and mobile website provides greater freedom for jobseekers.

"Our new mobile job-hunting services allows jobseekers to conduct specific local and global job searches wherever they are - whether on the bus, the train or sitting in a cafe. And this is just the tip of the iceberg," Mr van der Tang said.

"The capability for organic development of mobile applications means we can continually invest and upgrade our services to meet the changing needs of jobseekers and employers alike."

Developments already in the pipeline for the new app include the ability to instantly apply for jobs or shifts, share on social networks and join industry-specific conversations.

Mr van der Tang says Randstad's investment in mobile technology is a deliberate move to stay ahead of the curve.

"It has been predicted by 2013, mobile internet access will overtake desktop internet access, and by 2015, analysts believe smartphones will become the main device used for internet usage[i].

"Randstad's investment in mobile technology makes even more sense when you consider research showing in the past financial year, the average time a smartphone user spends engaging with apps has almost doubled (up from 43 minutes to 81 minutes)[ii].

"At Randstad, we are committed to staying ahead of the curve. This means making our products and services practical, relevant, up-to-date and wherever possible, incorporating the latest technology."

"Our focus is on helping jobseekers to make the right career move, and assisting businesses to secure the right employees to build their business - as efficiently and effectively as possible.

"Through continual product innovation, and our dedication to providing first-class service, Randstad is committed to shaping the world of work."
