Sony proudly announces the launch of “Sony Tablet” devices combining unique optimised design, powerful performance, and
unparalleled interactivity with other Sony devices that bring entertainment and more to your fingertips.
Sony will be launching two tablet devices, each with a unique design and a swift and smooth experience that provides the
ideal entertainment and interactive experience.
“Sony Tablet” S
“Sony Tablet” S is optimised for “rich media entertainment” on a large 9.4inch screen. Equipped with Android™ 3.11 as
well as the NVIDIA®Tegra™ 2 dual-core mobile processor, users can comfortably enjoy rich flash-based web browsing,
entertainment content and applications on the brilliant LED-lit display. 1 WiFi only models are equipped with Android™
3.1 (To be upgradable to Android™ 3.2) Unlike other tablet devices, the “Sony Tablet” S has a unique asymmetric design
which provides stability and lightness, offering comfortable use for hours. The unique folding design offers a more
balanced feel in your hands, similar to that of a book or magazine. Weighing in at an approximate 598g2 the “Sony
Tablet” S is ideal for watching a movie or reading a digital magazine or ebook. Placed on a flat surface its sloped
screen courtesy of its unique asymmetric design, enhances screen visibility and makes typing functions more comfortable.

also features two cameras, one capable of HD-video recording and 5 Mega Pixel still images, enable video calling, and a
high-accuracy microphone, accelerometer, compass and GPS. Placing “Sony Tablet” S onto a specialised cradle (sold
separately) also transforms the device into a digital photo frame or digital clock which pushes information that the
users want.

“Sony Tablet” P is ideal for “mobile communication entertainment” with its dual screen folding design delivering
ultimate portability in a compact and appealing design.
Equipped with the latest Android™ 3.2 and the NVIDIA®Tegra™ 2 mobile processor with Dual Core ARM® Cortex™-A9 CPU “Sony
Tablet” P will be available with both WiFi and 3G3 providing portability and the ultimate in mobile communication.
Featuring two 5.5inch displays in an unprecedented dual screen presentation, users will be able to utilize each screen
for different functions, such as playing video on one screen while using the other as a controller, or checking email on
one screen while using the other as a keyboard. The displays can also be combined as a single large screen to browse the
internet and more. Its folding design achieves a compact form factor for easy portability, and by holding the device the
long way, users can also read ebooks similar to reading a physical book.
TruBlack™ The “Sony Tablet” S and “Sony Tablet” P devices are both equipped with TruBlack™ displays which controls and
reduces glare and reflections from sunlight or fluorescent light achieving high contrast and visibility for strain free
use indoors or outdoors. Swift and smooth experience Through a blend of hardware and software developments, “Sony
Tablet” devices provide optimal usability and performance. These technologies offer a comfortable and stress free user

Quick touch: Highly responsive and smooth touch screen is realised by combining various Sony technologies. • Software
keyboard: Large keys take advantage of the large screen. Keyboard automatically adjusts to your actions by, for

complete to make email and SNS communication a breeze.
Cross device connectivity Through “Sony Tablet” devices, users can control home entertainment devices as well as enjoy
content in new ways. • Enjoying content on “Sony Tablet” devices on other devices
Users can “throw” personal picture and video content to devices with DLNA compatible televisions such as “BRAVIA” at the
touch of a button. They can also enjoy music on their devices on wireless speakers. • Controlling other devices with
“Sony Tablet” devices
Users can easily set up their “Sony Tablet” S, which is equipped with infrared technology, to act as a remote control
for multiple devices such as televisions and other devices at once. Hundreds of products are pre-programmed on the “Sony
Tablet”. Both “Sony Tablet” devices are also compatible with “Media Remote”4 which allow user to control Sony devices
including "BRAVIA" through WiFi. 4 Downloaded through Android Market Applications Users can enjoy video, music, game,
and ebook entertainment, as well as communication tools and social network services though various applications. In
addition to the preinstalled applications, users can download applications through Android Market. A number of those as
well as preinstalled applications have been optimized for the “Sony Tablet” devices and over time, the number of
applications is expected to increase. Social Feed Reader allows users to consolidate Facebook and Twitter feeds into a
single application for easy and convenient viewing. Select App recommends users of applications, content and network
services which have been optimized for “Sony Tablet.”
Network Entertainment
”Sony Entertainment Network” services:
Users can access Sonys cloud-based digital music service “Music Unlimited” which offers subscribers access to a global
catalogue of over 10 million songs5 from major labels, leading independent labels and publishers worldwide. 5 The number
of songs available from this catalogue varies by region
“Sony Tablet” devices are the first PlayStation™Certified tablets on which users can enjoy games for
PlayStation™Certified devices including original PlayStation games. “Crash Bandicoot” and “Pinball Heroes” will be
preinstalled at launch.
Video, music, game and other content can be directly accessed through the “Favorites” menu without the need to relaunch
the respective applications. “Sony Tablet” devices bring the world of entertainment, information and communication to
your fingertips. From browsing the web to checking up on emails, from watching a movie to listening to your favourite
music, from enjoying classic PlayStation games to organizing your social networks, its all our innovations folded into

The “Sony Tablet” S WiFi model will be available in New Zealand in November in 16GB and 32GB models. “Sony Tablet” S
WiFi + 3G with and “Sony Tablet” P will be available in New Zealand early 2012.
