New Waitomo Glowworm Caves Event is One to Savour

Experience a unique opportunity to enjoy bubbles, gourmet Kiwi fare, breathtaking music in the world famous Cathedral Cave and a boat ride through a glowworm grotto with Savour and Sound – a Waitomo Glowworm Caves dining experience.

For two nights only, Wednesday 22 September and Tuesday 4 October, the exclusive Savour and Sound event at the renowned Waitomo Glowworm Caves will provide visitors from both here and overseas with the opportunity to experience a first.

Arriving through a tunnel at the award-winning Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre, guests lucky enough to be part of this special evening will receive a glass of bubbles before being directed up a path into the caves where they will learn about the history of the area and the stories of the caves.

Guided into the majestic Cathedral cave, visitors will then be welcomed by the choir who will perform a range of songs including Kiwiana and Maori songs that are moving enough to give you goosebumps.

Transported into the depths of the glowworm grotto aboard a guided, gentle boat ride, guests will continue to enjoy the sounds of the choir while marvelling at the illuminated and magical ceiling of the cave covered in thousands of glowworms.

The most discerning palate is sure to be satisfied as the evening comes to a close with a delicious dinner held at the stunning Waitomo Glowworm Caves Visitor Centre. The New Zealand themed gourmet barbeque will include green lipped mussels, Angus beef burgers, potato or kumara salad and locally baked Maori bread, to name a few.
