Housemart trio finalists in industry awards
The 2011 Residential Property Managers Awards recognised three members of Queenstown and Wanaka Housemart team for excellence in property management.
Colleen Topping, Hayley Stevenson and Zahra Iliff were each named finalists in this year's award ceremony held in Hamilton last weekend as part of the 2011 Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) annual Property Managers conference.
Ms Topping and Ms Stevenson each made the finals of the Residential Property Manager of the Year division while Ms Iliff's finalist position was in the Rookie of the Year category.
Over 200 people attended the awards ceremony on Saturday night (August 20) to applaud the best performers in the residential property management sector.
Housemart Director Hayley Stevenson said the caliber of entries in all categories was outstanding and it was great to be recognised among the group of highly regarded professional property managers.
"Colleen, Zahra and I were delighted to be recognised as performing at the top level of this industry. The popularity of these awards is growing every year, people are making an enormous effort with their submissions so the level of competition is increasing each year. Colleen and I are both past winners of this award, Colleen won Property Manager of the Year in 2010, we weren't able to defend our titles but will certainly be back next year."
Housemart launched in Wanaka in 2010 with the Queenstown branch opening in Terrace Junction later that year. The company is highly systemised and offers a premium customer experience. Its rental property portfolios are exclusive to Wanaka and Queenstown.
Ms Stevenson who has twice won the top REINZ Property Management award said she understands that people have choices when choosing a property manager or a property to rent and that being recognised as a top performer with proven integrity and standards gives people confidence when selecting an agency.
"At Housemart, the service is the same no matter who you are - landlord or tenant. Our whole team is dedicated to making sure that the Housemart experience is a happy one whether you own a house or are renting one from us."
"We aim to take the best possible care of our customers' valuable investment, whether they live close by or on the other side of the world, we also need our tenants to enjoy dealing with us and trust us to find them a comfortable home. We're not interested in substandard property - we care about all our customers."
Each submission for the REINZ awards is made up of 4 to 6 questions, depending on the category. A one page response per question demonstrating areas of excellence is required and then taken into consideration by judges, who remain anonymous and who have a variety of backgrounds and considered experts in their field. Factors such as commitment to quality customer service, significant achievements, roads to success and innovative methods that allow the agency or person to stand out from the rest are all taken into consideration.
The four categories at the awards are Property Manager of the year, Rookie of the year, Property Management Agency of the year and Administration Support Staff member of the year.
