San Francisco Beckons for BoosterSeat2011 Winner IntuitionHQ

The winner of the BoosterSeat2011 competition has been announced and it is Wellington-based, SaaS product, IntuitionHQ!

BoosterSeat2011 was a competition launched by Rich Chetwynd and Nicole Fougere in the wake of the acquisition of their own web business, Litmos, to US Public Company Callidus Software in June 2011. Their aim was to find a NZ-based entrepreneur or start-up who would benefit specifically from the US-focused prize: 2 Return flights to San Francisco, accommodation in San Francisco for 30 days, and up to 2 desks at the new kiwi run, SOMA district office space “The Landing Pad” to work from during their stay.

“We had over 50 entries and the standard was really high. I was stoked by the effort that went in to some of the applications and really wish we could give everyone a prize”, said Chetwynd. Fougere added “With the help of Andy Hamilton (The ICEHOUSE) we managed to get it down to ten finalists by last week and our plan from here on is to help all ten as much as possible by connecting them up to like-minded people and mentors within their industry.”

About IntuitionHQ

Publically launched in August 2009, IntuitionHQ is the brainchild of Wellington- based web development and design company, Boost New Media. IntuitionHQ is a web-based, Software-as-a-Service tool enabling website designers to test websites for usability. The product came about through Boost New Media noticing a distinct lack of good usability testing tools online that met their time and budget requirements.

Jacob Creech of IntuitionHQ mentions in their competition entry that the trip to San Francisco would help them to compete with their two biggest competitors on a more level footing, increase their attractiveness to US-based companies looking at usability services, and more than a learning experience ‘gain from the knowledge of others, to share our ideas, get feedback, and be in a place that lives and breathes technology’.

Upon being notified of winning BoosterSeat2011, Creech said “San Francisco is the Mecca for all things web, and being there is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for us. Kudos to Rich and Nicole for giving back to the community in such a fantastic way.”
