Visa strengthens New Zealand team with experienced new hire
Head of Acceptance appointed for New Zealand and South Pacific
Auckland, 22 August 2011 - Global payments technology company Visa has appointed David O'Brien as its Head of Acceptance, with responsibility for New Zealand and the South Pacific.
O'Brien was previously New Zealand General Manager for Diners Club and has held a number of positions at American Express, both locally and internationally.
His responsibilities include developing and executing Visa's card acceptance and merchant relations strategy for New Zealand, implementing marketing initiatives, providing strategic direction, and establishing and fostering relationships with merchants, payment industry partners and clients.
Visa Country Manager Sean Preston said O'Brien brought a wealth of experience to the position.
"We're delighted to be able to tap into his industry knowledge to strengthen our position in New Zealand and across the South Pacific," Preston said.
O'Brien holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Oxford Brookes University and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
