Bikes and Campers unite in NZ first
If you love the idea of a free wheeling holiday then cycle company Natural High and Britz Campervan’s are ready to take
you to the next level.
In a first for New Zealand Britz and Natural High have teamed up to offer Britz Bikes – camper vans with bikes on the
back, at a very reasonable cost.
It is the ultimate in independent travel. Tour New Zealand in your fully equipped camper, then when you find a spot you
like the look of, park up and head off to explore on your bicycle.
Natural High Owner Andy Hunt says bikes and campers are the perfect fit. “You can park up your camper and explore an
area by bike, saving petrol and exercising at the same time. The slower pace means you get to really experience New
Zealand and interact with the locals."
Britz Brand Manager Sharron Clark agrees. “Natural High’s association with Britz means more freedom, and more
adventures,” she says.
With cycle trails now available around the country travellers can take advantage of the opportunities to get closer to
nature or avoid those inner city parking problems by heading into town using peddle power.
The bikes are an optional extra when booking a Britz campervan and cost as little as $16 a day including plenty of
extras. Two styles of bike are available, the "Specialized Crossroad" is ideal for those rambling country trails and
city slicker riding while the "Specialized Hardrock" is a mountain bike for some serious off-roading.
To keep you pedaling there are plenty of extras included in the price : helmet, flat pedals, bottle cages, puncture
repair kits, pump, spare tube, tyre levers, multi tool, lock and key, and 0800 on-road service. There are also some
great optional extras including flashing lights, bike computer, panniers, front handle bar bag, and rear rack.
Britz Bikes are available for bookings now and for travel from Auckland and Christchurch from 1 September 2011.
