Chris Mackay Financial Planning Joins Plus 4 Insurance Group
Plus4 Insurance Solutions (Plus4), the national insurance broking and financial adviser group, today announced that Chris MacKay Financial Planning (CMFP) has joined Plus4 boosting the group’s Wellington presence.
Lower Hutt based, CMFP specialises in insurance, investments, KiwiSaver and UK Pension transfers. Established by Chris MacKay the CMFP team of six financial advisers; Chris MacKay, Ian Jordan, Neil Henderson, Peter Baird, Blair Bennett and Chris Cornford, are all Authorised Financial Advisers (AFAs) and will become members of Plus4 with effect immediately.
Plus4’s chairman Grant Uridge said, “Chris MacKay is a well-known and highly regarded financial planning professional with over 30 years’ experience. Given that Plus4 is a cooperative, the only specialist insurance and financial broking firm who is a member of the NZ Cooperatives Association, we are very selective about whom we ask to join our group. They need to not only share our values but also have the necessary experience and expertise, as each member has an equal shareholding in Plus4.”
Established in 2008 in Nelson, Plus4 now has 25 advisers working from 10 locations between Whangarei and Invercargill. Group members, who have no affiliations to any specific insurance provider, offer unbiased advice tailored to their individual and business clients’ requirements. They work predominantly with small to medium sized enterprises, their owners and their accountants.
Chris MacKay, managing director of CMFP said, “Joining Plus4 will enhance our offering providing access to their systems and processes, as well as the benefit of being part of a group of like-minded professionals. The fact that Plus4 is a cooperative - an association of equals - also appealed to our team.”
Chris MacKay has a BCA with a major in Tax, Trusts and Estate Planning from Victoria University of Wellington. He also has a NZ Diploma in Life Assurance and a National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) Level 5. He holds the Certified Financial Plannercm (CFPcm) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations and was the first New Zealander to hold both. Chris is a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) and the Life Brokers Association (LBA). A former Hutt City Councillor and Hutt Valley High School Board Member, Chris has a long association with Te Omanga Hospice and is a Trustee on the Hospice’s Foundation board.
Grant Uridge said, “We are pleased to welcome Chris and his team to Plus4. While we have experienced significant growth over the past three years and are currently in discussion with several other adviser firms, we’re not pursuing growth as an end in itself. Instead, we’ve elected to focus on building enduring client relationships based on well-researched advice to ensure our clients get the best outcomes when it matters.”
