One in four small businesses choose AVG

Auckland, 15 August 2011. AVG (AU/NZ) Pty Ltd today announced that an independent study conducted with the GFK* Group shows that 25 per cent of small businesses worldwide have selected AVG as their trusted internet security provider.

To follow, many industry experts are reporting that unprotected SMBs are in a particularly vulnerable position as cyber criminals are aiming for financial gain in the sector, which is traditionally less up-to-date on security protection.

"I think a lot of small business owners view security as just one more hassle that keeps them from focusing on what matters most - running their business," said Lloyd Borrett, Security Evangelist at AVG (AU/NZ).

"AVG's proposition is fairly simple but it is innately effective. Install the software and get back to work without fear. We won't slow you down and you don't have to give security a second thought - we'll handle the details. That's our mantra and we're pleased that it's earning praise from customers and industry luminaries alike."

To help SMBs address the policy, technology and process issues involved with securing their smartphones, tablets, workstations and/or servers, AVG has created a set of AVG Small Business Security Guides which provide simple but effective steps small business owners can take to secure their business.
