The online jobs board Jobs.co.nz were excited to find out that Matt Warner and his co-founders of ParrotDog Beer won the Peoples Choice Award at the iconic beer festival Beervana over this past weekend in Wellington.
Matt Warner was the first winner of the Jobs.co.nz ‘Choice Job’ competition held late last year. These competitions ran until early 2011 offering winners the chance for a day in the life of their
‘Choice Job’ – Such as the Pilot with HELiPRO, the Fashion Editor with Lucire, Event Organiser with HeapsLoose (Ft
Dizzee Rascal) and the very first competition – ‘The Brewer’ with Epic Beer in Auckland.
Jobs.co.nz winner Matt Warner was the obvious competition choice – already playing around with and testing brews in his
flat in Te Aro, he knew his facts about New Zealand Beer and was obviously passionate about it. Jobs.co.nz sent Matt up
for a day at Epic Beer with founder Luke Nicholas who showed him the life behind a successful brewing company - the hard work, the industry

Jobs.co.nz were there at Beervana to see Matt and his crew pick up the prestigious award for their new brew
‘BitterBitch’, and got the chance to speak to them about their win, and how the trip to Epic Beer helped fuel Matt’s
passion:
“The day up at Epic was a fantastic opportunity to gain a useful insight into one of the biggest players in the craft
brewing industry. Luke Nicholas was a great host who managed to pass on some very helpful knowledge regarding not only
craft brewing itself, but also about the how the industry operates as a whole”
The boys from ParrotDog couldn’t believe they had come so far in such a short amount of time (being newcomers to
Beervana), and were absolutely stoked at the great response from the crowd.
“Tips on both of these avenues [craft brewing & the industry] have been valuable in helping ParrotDog have its successful launch over the past few weeks. A huge thanks
again to both Jobs.co.nz and Epic for providing me with that choice opportunity!”
