NZB Insurance Sponsor the Spring Classic
New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance, a committed sponsor of thoroughbred racing in New Zealand, is pleased to announce that they are the sponsor of the Group 1 New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance Spring Classic for 2011.
One of the leading Group 1 races on the New Zealand thoroughbred racing calendar and the last leg of the famous Hawke's Bay Triple Crown, Hawke's Bay Racing General Manager Jason Fleming is thrilled to have New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance as the race sponsor.
"We are ecstatic that New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance has chosen to extend their involvement with Hawke's Bay Racing. The Spring Classic is the country's supreme weight for age contest, with the best horses descending on the Bay it is heartening for us as a club to further develop our partnership with New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance and increase the stake to $300,000."
New Zealand Bloodstock has had a long affiliation with the race through its winning graduates which over recent years have included Wall Street, Vosne Romanee, Xcellent and Balmuse.
"After many years of sponsorship at Hawke's Bay we are pleased to now take over the sponsorship of this prestigious Group One event," said Jim Bruford, Managing Director of New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance.
"Our sponsorship with Hawke's Bay Racing is an acknowledgement of the support we receive from owners in the Central Districts and we look forward to continuing our commitment to a region that supports the business of New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance.
"We must also acknowledge the contribution made by our London underwriters whose continued support enables New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance to be a prominent sponsor of the New Zealand thoroughbred industry."
The race, as in previous years, has attracted a host of top thoroughbreds including last year's winner Wall Street, Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner Scarlett Lady, the outstanding colt Jimmy Choux, dual Group 1 winner Booming, Keep the Peace, Katie Lee, Red Ruler and many more.
