Cricket Wellington Media Release Friday 22 July 2011

Cricket Wellington appoints new Business and Marketing Manager

Cricket Wellington is pleased to announce the appointment of Warrick Dent as its new Business and Marketing Manager.

Warrick is currently the Head of Commercial, Communications, and Events at the Hong Kong Rugby Union.

He is a New Zealander who is returning home after a seven year tenure with Hong Kong Rugby, where he has had responsibility for the delivery of all event management, marketing, and communications relating to the annual Hong Kong Sevens tournament.

Cricket Wellington CEO Gavin Larsen is looking forward to Warrick joining the Cricket Wellington team in early September.

"I am extremely pleased to have secured a person with Warrick's skill-set and experience. Warrick will I know play a significant role in driving the Business and Marketing area of Cricket Wellington forward.

"With a new season just a few months away Warrick will hit the road running, and will focus on creating a positive impact in our sponsorship, membership, and hospitality areas.

"A key area for Warrick will be the delivering of a successful marketing and promotion campaign for the Wellington Firebirds HRV Cup Twenty 20 matches at the Hawkins Basin Reserve. Given Warrick's vast experience in delivering the Hong Kong Sevens tournament, I know we will see a high-profile and well-promoted HRV Cup series this summer."
