Jetstar announces 100 extra flights for biggest rugby event to hit New Zealand

Thousands more rugby fans will move around New Zealand for less during September and October, with 100 extra domestic flights announced today by low fares leader Jetstar.

Between 15 September and 9 October, Jetstar will provide an additional: Daily Auckland-Christchurch return service Four times weekly Auckland-Wellington return service Three times weekly Auckland-Queenstown return service

Jetstar Australia & NZ CEO David Hall said Jetstar was proud to be supporting New Zealanders and its visitors for the biggest sporting event the country has ever hosted.

“We are delighted to announce additional services for local and visiting rugby fans during September and October. Jetstar is committed to helping more people travel around the country for the lowest fares, during what’s going to be an extremely busy time for the New Zealand tourism industry,” Mr Hall said.

“We are positioning an additional aircraft in Auckland, increasing our fleet-base there to five. The additional flight schedule has been developed to provide support where demand is expected to be greatest during that time.”

The 100 flights will provide an additional 17,700 seats for domestic air travel.
