New World South City establishes bus service for Redcliffs shoppers
A free bus service has been established to run to and from the Redcliffs Community Information Centre to New World South City.
The service, which runs once a day, complements an already established service that runs three times a day from outside the earthquake-destroyed New World St Martins to New World South City.
New World South City owner/operator Nigel Bond said that they were now able to undertake the Redcliffs service because they had purchased their own bus.
“We had actually looked at a Redcliffs service some time ago for our New World customers, but there was a 3.5 tonne weight restriction on the Ferrymead Bridge and we did not have a suitable vehicle.
“That has now changed and we are delighted at not only being able to introduce the service, but the also the strong patronage we are already getting,” he said.
The Redcliffs service runs Monday to Friday, leaving Redcliffs at 10.15am and returning at 11.15am. The St Martins service from outside the old New World in Wilsons Rd leaves at 9.30am, 11am and 12pm, retuning at 10.45am, 12.15pm and 1pm.
