ASB to open new branch in Mosgiel

ASB to open new branch in Mosgiel

ASB's branch network expansion and refurbishment programme will soon reach another milestone, with the opening of a new branch at Mosgiel this month.

Branch manager James Mullenger says the decision to open a new branch to provide further services to the Mosgiel community is in response to business growth in the area.

"ASB has an 18 year history in the area, with our branch in Dunedin opening in 1993, Mr Mullenger says. "Customer demand was behind our decision to open this new branch on Gordon Road. We look forward to continuing our support for the local Mosgiel people, as well as for our community partner St John."

In August 2010 ASB announced a $100 million investment that would see construction of 25 new branches and refurbishment of a further 117 over the next five years. "This very significant investment programme shows ASB's confidence in the future of New Zealand," Mr Mullenger says.

The new branch, at 144 Gordon Road, will expand and extend on many of the design philosophies and features already seen in ASB's branches.

It will offer the very latest in banking technology including:

* FastNet banking in-branch for ASB customers to use.

* FastChange - A convenient change machine so that customers can get change for their businesses when it suits them, not just during bank hours.

* FastDeposit - a quick and convenient way to deposit money.

* The latest ASB ATMs.

* FastCount - a coin sorting machine located in the branch. No need for customers to sort or bag coins before they come into the branch - our FastCount machine will do this for them.

* Video conference phones for customers to access a wide range of ASB specialists face to face.

"We are also looking after the social needs of our customers with couches and coffee facilities in-branch. As with our other new ASB branches, there will also be a dedicated noticeboard for our community customers to advertise their upcoming local events," adds Mr Mullenger.

"Our new branch will operate with a team of five people who all look forward to being involved in the Mosgiel community. Many of our customers choose to come into a branch for face-to-face conversations with us about their banking needs so it's important for ASB to have a strong presence in Mosgiel. We invite ASB customers and Mosgiel residents and visitors along to our new branch on opening day," Mr Mullenger says.

The new branch is due to open on Monday 18 July, with a community fun day to be held at the branch on Saturday 16 July.
