Vincent Aviation Helps Stranded Water Polo Players
30 June 2011, Wellington
For the second time in as many weeks Vincent Aviation is helping sports teams affected by ash from the Chilean Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano.
Two weeks ago the aviation company carried The Highlanders from Dunedin to Auckland. Now Vincent Aviation is putting on special flights between Wellington and Auckland to help passengers stranded by flight cancellations. Peter Vincent the company CEO said, "The Water Polo Youth Championships tournament is beginning in Auckland tomorrow and many players from Wellington had their flights on Jetstar cancelled earlier today. It was an easy decision to put on a flight to help the stranded players and we decided to use a larger aircraft to cater for business travellers also effected by flight cancellations."
Peter states, "Our aircraft can fly safely at lower altitudes avoiding the Ash Cloud. Safety is always the priority and the Vincent Aviation team are constantly monitoring the situation with CAA." Peter explains the details for this evenings flights, "We will depart Wellington at 7pm and then fly back leaving Auckland at 9pm. Bookings can be made by calling 0800 VINCENT (846236) and if there is demand we will put flights on tomorrow between Wellington and Auckland."
There will be 25 seats available on the flight to Auckland and 38 seats available on the Dash8 aircraft for the return flight to Wellington. Seats will be priced at $195 including GST one way.
