Air New Zealand Joins Business Awards Supporters

Coinciding with its new direct Kapiti-Auckland flights, Air New Zealand has joined the list of businesses sponsoring a category in this year’s Kapiti Horowhenua Electra Business Awards.

The airline begins flying the route on Labour Day, 24 October and the Air NZ Customer Service Award will be presented eleven days later at the business awards’ gala dinner at Southward Theatre on Friday 4 November.

For the airline, Account Manager, Frank Gibbons says alongside others in the Kapiti region, Air New Zealand is investing heavily by providing the services from Paraparaumu Airport. “The Kapiti area is showing confidence through the airport development. Air New Zealand is pleased to add to that confidence by providing regular services which will support the community and its businesses.

“The Business Awards is the celebration of the ongoing success of the Region, and it is a natural step in Air New Zealand’s relationship with the Kapiti Region to join in this celebration and sharing of innovation and business excellence,” he said.

Awards organiser, Kirsten Kilmister, says the company is one of four new sponsors so far this year. The others are Finman Services Paraparaumu (High Growth), Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce (Regional Branding and Promotion) and the Kapiti Retirement Trust (Not for Profit).

According to the awards’ chair, Tony Rush, the support of so many sponsors demonstrates the worth of the awards and is also reflected in that the Bank of New Zealand and long-time major sponsor, Electra, have increased the size of their sponsorships to enable new initiatives to be introduced into the Awards system.

Other category sponsors are: Kapiti Observer and the Horowhenua Mail, Bank of New Zealand, Beach FM 106.3, Crombie Lockwood, Horowhenua District Council, Kapiti Coast District Council, Whitireia New Zealand and supporters in cash or kind include: BOOST Business Coaching, CBS Branding, First Actual Design, Gen-i, Genoese Foods, HMC Kapiti, Horowhenua Motor Company, Multi Media Systems, Nature Coast Enterprise.
