Jetstar is pleased to confirm that all Australian and New Zealand domestic and trans Tasman services have returned to normal.
We do not expect any interruptions as a result of the ash cloud over the weekend (18-19 June 2011). We continue to review the situation and should future flights be affected we will notify passengers directly.
Over the past two days Jetstar has operated nine additional ad hoc services to assist with passenger recovery and will continue to monitor the need for extra services, if required.
Jetstar Australia and New Zealand CEO David Hall said while Jetstar's decision to keep aircraft on the ground throughout this event has been a significant costly to Jetstar, the decision to suspend operations has and always will be based on Jetstar's commitment to safety.
"The safety of our passengers, our people and our operations is Jetstar's number one priority - we always put safety before schedule," he said.
"We thank our passengers for their patience during this challenging period and are now focused on getting our customers safely home."
Jetstar has maintained flexible fare options in managing customers affected by the volcanic ash cloud. Customers whose flights were cancelled as a result of the ash cloud and wish to obtain a credit voucher (to the value of the unused portion of their booking) can arrange directly on Jetstar.com.
