Deloitte announces promotion of four new partners
Deloitte has announced the appointment of four new partners by internal promotion, bringing its compliment of partners in New Zealand to 87.
The latest promotions bring the number of new Deloitte partners appointed during the past 12 months to 11, including lateral hires, acquisitions by merger, and transfers from other Deloitte firms.
The new partners, effective from June 1, are Annalie Hampton and Darren Johnson, both tax partners based in Auckland; David Lovatt, a consulting partner in Wellington; and Christchurch tax partner Don MacKenzie.
Deloitte New Zealand chief executive Murray Jack says the appointments reflect the firm's ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, world-leading and fresh thinking to its client service offerings.
"This investment clearly demonstrates our confidence that the economy is returning to growth, and Deloitte is well poised to provide the range of services our clients will need as their professional service demands increase," Mr Jack says.
The new partners bring a range of skills to their roles and reflect Deloitte's focus on providing its clients with focused and innovative solutions, he says.
Annalie Hampton is a corporate tax specialist, with considerable experience from working on some of New Zealand's largest outbound international tax projects. In addition to working in New Zealand she has worked in Deloitte offices in Shanghai and Sydney as part of her international focus.
Darren Johnson is a middle market specialist and a key member of Deloitte's Auckland middle market team, assisting privately owned businesses with their tax requirements. Darren is a born-and-bred Aucklander who is passionate about working with Auckland's entrepreneurial business community. He says a secondment was one of his most formative early career experiences as it enabled him to "learn how business works from the inside and the types of businesses he most enjoys working with".
Don MacKenzie is a "naturalised" Cantabrian, having grown up in Auckland and Indonesia. Don brings a fresh and unique perspective to solving clients' tax issues, partly from experiences working in the banking and insurance sectors in London and New York, but also a period as a flying instructor in Malaysia. He prides himself on a dedication to professionalism, and providing clients with creative, "out-of-the-box" solutions.
David Lovatt is regarded as one of New
Zealand's leading consultants. He has worked for Deloitte
since 2007, and in a number of previous consulting roles.
These have led to him working with diverse clients in the
public and private sectors locally and in Australia,
Britain, Europe and the Americas. He is a specialist in
helping organisations create value, and he leads Deloitte's
supply chain consulting practice in New
Zealand.
