$100,000 on offer for winner of 2012 NZ International
Business Awards
8 June 2011: Courage, commitment and capital are necessary requirements for New Zealand businesses to internationalise successfully.
But finding capital and investment to grow a global business can be a particular challenge, which is one reason why $100,000 is up for grabs for the Supreme Winner of the 2012 New Zealand International Business Awards.
Businesses have 10 days left to enter the awards, which are run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), with the support of Strategic Partner ANZ.
A further $50,000 is available from the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MSI) to help each winner of four Special Categories apply research and development to grow their business.
Pumpkin Patch, last year's Supreme Award winner, is using its $100,000 prize to help market its new Charlie and Me brand of affordable, everyday kids wear in Australia.
"Launching a new brand like Charlie and Me is one way for us to open up growth opportunities internationally, but successfully doing so requires a well thought out strategy that covers where and when it makes sense to launch, plus a sophisticated marketing approach to support that.
"The $100,000 we received through the New Zealand International Business Awards has helped us roll out a programme of activity to start building awareness of the brand as we've launched it this year in strategic locations around Australia, which has been really valuable," says Pumpkin Patch General Manager Marketing Kate Tattersfield.
