Hospitality Association Conference to go ahead in Christchurch

The Hospitality Association has committed to hold its annual conference in Christchurch in November as planned. Christchurch is open for business and it’s important to demonstrate to the rest of New Zealand that Christchurch is still capable of holding significant events, says Hospitality Association chief executive Bruce Robertson. Some venue changes have been required with the convention centre no longer being available, but alternative conference venues have been arranged at Riccarton racecourse and the prestigious Awards for Excellence dinner will be held at the Airforce Museum in Wigram. The conference programme is very busy focussing on important hospitality issues, such as profitability, social media marketing and the proposed reforms to liquor legislation.

Mr Robertson commented that he expected there to be a strong turnout with hospitality operators being able to both get a lot out of the good programme, but also show their support and commitment to their hospitality colleagues in Christchurch. The conference will be held in Christchurch on 2 and 3 November.
