What's the best way to score a winter deal?
With winter well on its way, and the ski slopes ready for their biggest season yet; it looks like a bumper tourist period for domestic travel in New Zealand.
Kimi Anderson, General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Best Western Australasia says it's best to book early to get the best deals. "It's not worth the risk to wait for a last-minute deal. We've already seen strong bookings leading into the ski season. It looks like it'll be our busiest winter ever".
Far from paying more for planning ahead, guests can take advantage of a number of great promotional offers available for early-bird bookers. Guests can save 10% off the Best Available Rate when they book and pay with a Mastercard or Visa on select hotels in New Zealand.
In addition, guests can choose to earn double Best Western Rewards points when they stay two or more times at any Best Western hotel, motel, apartment or resort in New Zealand until 31 August. Best Western Rewards points can be redeemed for free room nights or a range of lifestyle products.
As for where to go, Anderson says New Zealand offers the greatest variety of winter pursuits available anywhere in the world. "Queenstown will undoubtedly be a popular choice as will the traditional ski areas like Wanaka. We're also seeing strong bookings in areas like Rotorua where visitors will enjoy the hot springs, and of course, Auckland is always a popular city getaway".
Christchurch is recovering quickly from a devastating February earthquake and accommodation owners are keen to see domestic visitors return to the region. Anderson continued, "Christchurch is a great place to base yourself for quick day trips or as part of a longer stay. It's important to support local business owners and help rebuild tourism in this area. It goes without saying - the food and wine here is incredible!"
