Jetstar Launches Even Lower Fares
Jetstar Launches Even Lower Fares
Only pay for what you want!
Low fares leader Jetstar has launched new, simple fare options that give customers more choice, flexibility and lower fares.
Now customers start with our economy Starter fare (replacing JetSaver Light, JetSaver, JetFlex and JetPlus) then personalise their experience from an expanded range of options.
One of the exciting new choices is Qantas Frequent Flyer points, now accessible on all fare bundles.
Business (replacing StarClass) fares are available on long haul (A330) services. Both fares give customers:
• More flexibility: The ability to customise Jetstar fares to suit individual needs, including customised baggage allowance for each passenger on each leg of their journey on the one booking;
• Added choice: Customers can select only the things they want. They can continue to choose our lowest fare, a la carte options or select new pre-packaged value bundles;
• Lower fares: By unbundling Jetstar offers customers even lower fares, backed by the Jetstar ‘Price Beat Guarantee’.
Jetstar Group CEO Bruce Buchanan said: “Jetstar continues to lead the industry across the Asia Pacific region by introducing simple, flexible products that provide the lowest fares and greater choice so customers can tailor their travel options to suit their needs. This is all underpinned by our ‘Price Beat Guarantee’.”
“You can choose almost everything but the seat colour,” Mr Buchanan said.
“These new options give customers complete control over their travel experience with Jetstar starting with the lowest fares.
“Our new fares and options give Jetstar the ability to tailor our offering in each of our international markets.” Under the Jetstar Price Beat Guarantee, Jetstar will beat any competitor by 10 per cent. (Conditions apply).
NEW ‘STARTER’ FARES AT JETSTAR
Starter fares include the seat and 10kg of carry-on baggage. Starter fares have a range of options including customised baggage allowances, with an option to select specific baggage limits for each passenger on each leg while keeping it all on one booking.
Once customers have purchased a Starter fare, they can buy a Plus or Max bundle option to add to their fare. Plus incorporates Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status credits (on eligible flights), free standard seat selection and a waiver of change fees.
In addition to the Plus bundle benefits, Max goes one step further to also incorporate upfront and/or extra leg room seating and refundability. Jetstar customers, who’ve previously chosen JetFlex, will see similar benefits in the Max option with the Starter fare.
BUSINESS – FLYING JETSTAR LONG-HAUL INTERNATIONAL (A330 SERVICES)
Jetstar’s new Business Max fares will replace our StarClass (Business) fares. Customers will have the option to select an even lower Business fare by removing certain benefits (such as Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status credits).
Customers travelling on Business will enjoy all the in-flight benefits, including an extra-roomy all leather seat in a Business class cabin, two x 10kg cabin bags, 30kgs checked baggage allowance with options for greater excess baggage limits, all meals and beverages, in-flight entertainment and a comfort pack. Customers choosing Business now have the option to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status credits at Qantas business rates (on eligible flights), Lounge access and refundability by purchasing a Business Max option.
Business customers now have greater choices in the way they travel and an enhanced in-flight experience:
• New food and beverage service, with in-flight meal redesign and a food-matched wine list;
• Improved in-flight service, and
• Access to a lower every day Business fare
JETSTAR AND QANTAS FREQUENT FLYER
Customers travelling with Jetstar will have more opportunity to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status credits accessible on all bundled fares.
Qantas Frequent Flyers travelling with Jetstar on Starter fare with a Plus or Max bundle and a Business fare with a Business Max bundle can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points and Status credits*, at the equivalent level as flying on Qantas. (*Terms and Conditions apply).
“For example, a customer travelling on a one-way Starter fare for $59 between Melbourne and Sydney, can also now access a Qantas Frequent Flyer offering on this Jetstar flight by purchasing the Starter Plus bundle for a combined total of $84. This selection provides the customer with free standard seat selection, no change fees and earns Qantas Frequent Flyer points at the equivalent level as flying Qantas*” Mr Buchanan said.
To celebrate the expanded Qantas Frequent Flyer offering, the first 1,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer members to book an eligible Jetstar Starter Plus, Starter Max or Business Max will earn double Qantas Frequent Flyer points** (Terms and conditions apply). This commences at 11am (Australian Eastern Standard Time), Tuesday 17 May 2011.
