Master Plumbers work with Earthquake Commission to resolve payment issues
Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers and the Earthquake Commission have set up an agreed process for Master Plumbers’ members who have outstanding payments due from the commission.
Master Plumbers says a number of its members in Canterbury are reporting cashflow problems.
“We have been involved in ongoing discussions with the Earthquake Commission,” says Master Plumbers Membership and Marketing Manager Kelvin Trumper.
“We recognise they have a big job, and we understand their requirement to have the appropriate checks on invoices. At the same time, we have repeatedly asked for better communications with our members, and other trades people, so that any issues can be sorted out quickly.”
“We are pleased that today we have reached an understanding about a process for our members to have their concerns considered promptly by the EQC.”
Master Plumbers understands the EQC is also improving the process for other tradespeople.
“We are committed to doing what we can to help our members in Canterbury with any issues,” says Mr Trumper.
Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers is the trade organisation that represents over 60% of the plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying industry. www.masterplumbers.org.nz
