Samsung Introduces New SMART 3D Blu-ray Player and Home Theatre System


New SMART Blu-ray player and Home Theatre system designed to complement any TV in the home

Auckland, New Zealand – April 13, 2011 - Samsung New Zealand today unveils a new range of premium Blu-ray and Home Theatre systems with wireless features and superior sound quality to complement the breadth of content that people watch in their home, whether it is 3D, 2D, HD or streaming.

Samsung’s premium line-up includes advanced Blu-ray features such as Smart Hub; offering access to content via AllShare, Samsung Apps and Your Video, 2D to 3D conversion, and built-in Wireless LAN connectivity – making it easier for users to access and share content than ever before.

Samsung Powers on 3D Sound with the HT-D6750W Home Theatre System
The HT-D6750W Home Theatre combines Samsung’s symmetric style with high-fidelity audio features. It packs Full HD 1080p playback of 3D Blu-ray discs and offers new 3D Sound technology through a powerful 1,300W 7.1 channel speaker system. The innovative 3D Sound is created using four vertical surround swivel speakers, offering enhanced vertical and horizontal surround sound.

The HT-D6750W includes Samsung’s Crystal Sound Plus and 2D to 3D conversion, along with support for HD formats that include Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Featuring built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, the system can wirelessly access content on DLNA-enabled devices through AllShare. It also features wireless rear speakers for flexible, cordless placement in the living room. The Home Theatre also gives users access to content via Samsung’s Smart Hub interface. Through Smart Hub users can access content on demand through Samsung Apps, Search All to locate any files on any device on your home Wi-Fi connection and even receive movie recommendations via the Your Video function.

The HT-D6750W goes on sale in April with an RRP of $1,499.95.

Samsung’s Ultimate Home Media Device, the BD-D8900A SMART Blu-ray player
Samsung’s new multi-function SMART Blu-ray player, the BD-D8900A, offers the ultimate media hub in the home with PVR functionality, access to Samsung Smart Hub via built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, a twin digital TV tuner and Samsung’s innovative video processing technology (SoC) for exceptional 3D and the ability to convert 2D content to 3D . The BD-D8900A also features an impressive 1TB HDD (hard disc drive) that will hold up to 240 hours of recording time in HD, making it simple for consumers to capture their favorite TV shows.

The BD-D8900A goes on sale in April with an RRP of $1,399.95.
