ANZ goMoney mobile banking app delivers new way to make payments
ANZ New Zealand’s mobile banking application, ANZ goMoney – the first convenient and simple way for customers to securely transfer money between friends, relatives and businesses using only mobile phone details - is launched today.
Currently available for use on an iPhone, ANZ goMoney is free and can be downloaded via iTunes.
The application when launched in Australia by ANZ in August 2010 topped the iTunes charts as the most popular finance application only days after its launch.
The ANZ goMoney application has been built, hosted and supported by ANZ New Zealand for the wider ANZ Group. It was built in New Zealand for the Australian launch where there are larger iPhone user numbers, then tailored for the New Zealand market.
“ANZ goMoney is an easy to use application that allows our customers to access all their banking needs using a secure iPhone application,” says ANZ New Zealand Managing Director Retail, Kerri Thompson.
“Customers can make secure payments to another person using only the other person’s mobile phone number. There’s no need to enter a bank account number nor does the recipient have to be an ANZ New Zealand customer.
“ANZ goMoney is the next evolution in mobile phone banking and the Pay to Mobile function will revolutionise person-to-person payments,” she said.
“People are continuing to evolve and change the way they interact with banks. They want to do their banking when, where and how they want and with goMoney, ANZ New Zealand has responded with a renewed focus on delivering innovation that works for our customers. Now our New Zealand customers will be able to share the same great experience that our Australian customers have had.”
Features of
the ANZ goMoney iPhone application include:
o Easy-access via a secure four digit PIN.
o Mobile
banking capabilities – customers can check balances and
transactions, transfer between accounts and make payments
using Pay Anyone and Pay to Mobile.
o Accounts
personalised with photos or images of the user’s
choice.
o Session based security – as soon as the app
is closed, banking information will no longer be available.
Banking details are not stored on the iPhone.
