Trinity Hill’s Homage is the Best of the Best
Today, Trinity Hill’s 2007 HOMAGE Syrah has been named Best of the Best by Cuisine magazine. The Cuisine Best of the Best award was based on a re-tasting of the top wines tasted by the Cuisine panel of judges in the last 12 months, across all varieties, regions and winemakers. A Best Red, Best White and Best Sparkling were chosen and finally, the Best of the Best. The Cuisine judges said “Trinity Hill Homage is a wine of great concentration and richness, but there’s also a lovely impression of finesse and elegance to complete the story”.
“This is the first year Cuisine has offered the accolade and we are very proud to receive it” responds John Hancock – President and Founder of Trinity Hill. “This wine begins in the vineyard where our Viticulture Team work passionately to produce the very best quality grapes. Once in the winery, Warren Gibson (Head Winemaker at Trinity Hill) and his team allow the grapes to reach their full potential with minimal intervention and maximum nurturing.”
Hancock says “We only produce Homage Syrah in vintages that meet our exacting standards. 2007 was an excellent year on the Gimblett Gravels and as a result, the 2007 Homage has been a winner right from the start”. The next Homage vintage to be released will be 2009 in November this year.
Homage has been appreciated and admired by many wine lovers throughout the world, both professional and amateur. Steven Spielberg is an avowed fan.
This award will join many others for the Homage including the Trophy for Champion Wine of the Show, Air New Zealand’s Wine Awards top wine in 2007 (2006 Homage). It will also complement the hundreds of medals, trophies and awards that have been presented to Trinity Hill wines over the past 16 years.
Trinity Hill Homage Syrah retails for $120 and is available from the Trinity Hill Cellar Door and website as well as many restaurant and retail outlets throughout New Zealand.
