“The Hobbit Dispute” - John Barnett's Response

“The Hobbit Dispute”
Helen Kelly writing today in Scoop says, “I have written this detailed (and rather long) record of events because it is important to have a union record on this dispute… Having a clear set of facts on which these can be based is rather important”.
We agree with her. Her account is a “union record” of the events but it is not a “clear set of facts”. Her article, presented from the union perspective, relies on newspaper articles which were incorrect, and it makes errors of statement and fact.
We agree that a clear set of facts is important and we hope to see it sometime in the future, because it isn’t in the ‘rather long’ piece that appears in Scoop.
